Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has assured students of Admiralty University of Nigeria (ADUN), Ibusa, Delta State, of needed support, through creation of an enabling environment, to bequeath them “top notch education.”
The governor gave the assurance at the 6th matriculation ceremony, which was held recently at the institution’s auditorium. Represented by the Commissioner for Higher Education, Prof. Nyerhovwo Tonikari, the governor urged the matriculants to take their studies seriously, while striving for excellence.
He also called on the university’s management to encourage the students to participate in extracurricular activities, such as sports and entrepreneurial development, noting that such activities will help them develop their talents, as well as broaden their bargaining power in the fast-moving dynamic age of skills.
Earlier, the Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. Paul Omojo Omaji, promised to maintain the university imprints and values to the 352 matriculating students, which he titled, ‘Live rightly, produce great results.’
Prof. Omaji urged the matriculants to be diligent and ensure that their handbook is always their guide, as they honour the sacrifices that have been made for their future.
