The Director General of the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC), Joseph Osanipin, and his team paid a visit to the Governor of Anambra State, Chukwuma Soludo, to seek strategic partnership to boost the performance of the automotive sector.

The purpose of the visit was to solicit the support of the Anambra State Government in enhancing collaboration within the automotive sector, particularly in auto part manufacturing.

Osanipin highlighted the pressing challenges confronting part manufacturers, notably from unauthorised sectors, emphasizing the pivotal role of cooperation between NADDC and the state government in addressing the challenges.

Recognising Anambra’s pivotal role in the automotive landscape, the NADDC chief underscored the abundance of part manufacturers and the presence of the indigenous automotive giant, Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing, in the state.

He stressed that with little empowerment and the creation of an enabling environment, the nation could accelerate job creation within the sector. Soludo in his remarks also unveiled plans for an innovative showcase event.

The proposed event aims to celebrate and promote the products of all automobile manufacturers based in Anambra State and across Nigeria. He emphasized the importance of harnessing local talent and fostering pride in home-grown automotive innovations.

The fallout of the meeting is expected to further foster collaboration between the council and other stakeholders, poised to invigorate the automotive sector in Anambra State and propel Nigeria towards a future of enhanced job creation and economic prosperity.
