The Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy of Nigeria (ACMPN) has concluded plans to host its yearly mental health awareness week and induction/cocktail ceremony.

According to the association, the long-week event is slated to hold from May 20-25, 2024 and would provide a platform for counsellors and psychotherapist practitioners to unite and sensitise people on the importance of mental health.

Chief Executive Officer, Marketing Mix & Company Limited, Akin Adeoya, who is also an expert in counselling, will deliver the keynote address on the theme, “Barriers to mental wellbeing in Nigeria” at the public lecture on May 25.

Some of the activities lined up to commemorate the week include visitation to schools, mental health awareness walk, among others.

President of ACMPN, Dr Tolulope Oko-Igaire, said that people are battling with mental health issues, which informed the theme of the event.
