To avoid being mocked for not finishing well, the founder and Bishop of Christian Central Chapel International Worldwide, Bishop Gospel Emmah Isong, has stressed the need for Christians to run the Christian race well just like the Apostle Paul who started well and finished well did.
In his sermon recently on the theme: “Ability To Finish” taken from Luke 14:30, Isong gave the example of a man who began to build, but was unable to finish, attributing the reason for lack of audacity, grace, tenacity and the velocity to finish the race.
He noted that it is not the beginning of a matter that is important, but the ability to end whatever one has started in life, saying any project embarked upon and not finished would not bring glory to God.
He added that the race is not for the strong, not for the wise, nor for wise, nor for great men that have wealth, but time and chance happening to them all. Urging Christians to bind the spirit that would hinder them from finishing well, the cleric said finishing well has spiritual dimension.
Not finishing well, Isong said could also affect one’s marriage and career, among others.
“It is not in size of what you are building, but in the finishing either in marriage, or building or education or farming. Any abandoned project is not to the glory of God. This man started to build and was not able to finish is a mockery, not finishing has spiritual dimension, not ending a matter, and not ending it well has a spiritual dimension. Why did that man not complete the battles because of hindrances,” Isong said.
Praying for the congregation to receive the grace and mercy to complete their race, or any project they have embarked upon, Isong quoted the experience of Apostle Paul in 2Timothy 4:7, which says: “I have fought a good fight of faith, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.” He continued: “Life is not a game, it is not Olympic, but a fight and battle. You cannot finish until you fight for it. Many people have died and left their prophecies unfulfilled, many people who are in the grave are hoping, watching, praying, fasting and expecting their prophecies to come to pass not because God is not faithful, but because they were not willing to take the bull by the horn. Ability to finish what you have started is very important in a race. I pray for you to receive the grace, mercy of God to complete and to testify in Jesus’ name.”
Meanwhile, Bishop Isong, who is also the Publicity Secretary of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) has lamented that some people have used his name to create a Facebook account, thereby impersonating Emmah Isong and using same to solicit for money and other items from unsuspecting Nigerians. He enjoined Nigerians to discountenance that.
He said: “It has come to our notice that somebody has created a Facebook account impersonating Emmah Isong sending requests with the intention of soliciting for money and other favours from unsuspecting and gullible people, giving them prophecies, in exchange for money through a bank account or other means. Please note that Bishop Emmah Isong does not give prophecies, prayers, and counseling on Facebook, and will never solicit for money or recharge cards from people.”
