Governor Eno highlighted his administration’s committed efforts to improve the welfare of Akwa Ibom residents, especially in government-labour relations, humanitarian initiatives, youth empowerment, palliatives, agriculture, education, healthcare services, empowerment schemes, and other capital projects. He stressed that the state’s reputation for peace has attracted tourists and investors.
“Let me emphasise that we are a peaceful state and have maintained this hard-won peace over the years. I appeal to those who may participate in the planned protest to do so peacefully and ensure that miscreants and hoodlums do not hijack their protest,” Governor Eno said.
He questioned the necessity of the protest, given the government’s people-friendly disposition and efforts to support various demographics through numerous initiatives.
