
Hoodlums have attacked and injured former reporter of Daily Trust Newspaper, Alhaji Aliyu Hamagan, in his residence in Minna, the Niger State capital.
Hamagan was reportedly attacked around two o’clock in the morning by the criminals who inflicted injuries on his head and back with knives and cutlasses.
Hamagan, who was a former correspondent of Daily Trust in Niger, Gombe, Jigawa, and Kebbi states, was hospitalized for days at the general hospital, Minna, before he was discharged.
The attackers of Aliyu carted away his laptop, iPad, iPhone, and a small phone, among other valuables.

The victim, in an interview with journalists in Minna, expressed shock at how he was attacked by the criminals who flashed a torchlight directly in his eyes and requested him to remain silent throughout their operation.
He appreciated God for his life but lamented that they further threatened him, saying the entire house was surrounded by their colleagues and if he did anything funny they would eliminate him.
When contacted, the Niger State Police Command spokesperson, SP Wasiu Abiodun, said he was not aware of the said attack but would find out from the concerned DPO before he could comment on the matter.
