
The Edo State House of Assembly Majority Leader, Charity Aiguobarueghian, was the guest speaker at the Asuelite Meet and Greet event in London, United Kingdom. The event was organised to galvanise support for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Asue Ighodalo, and his running mate, Osarodion Ogie, ahead of the Edo State gubernatorial election scheduled for September 21.
The gathering was put together by supporters and friends of Ighodalo in the UK and neighbouring countries. It witnessed an impressive turnout of Edo indigenes residing in the UK and surrounding areas, all aiming to strategise and mobilise Edolites back home to ensure that Ighodalo succeeds Governor Godwin Obaseki.

Speaking at the London event, Aiguobarueghian expressed his honour in canvassing for votes for the PDP candidate in the forthcoming election in Edo State. “The winning party is PDP and the candidate who will coast to victory is Ighodalo,” he stated.

Aiguobarueghian, who represents Ovia North East 1 Constituency in the Edo State House of Assembly, has been a vocal advocate for Ighodalo’s campaign. According to a statement from the event organisers, Aiguobarueghian’s remarkable achievements as part of the state assembly’s leadership and at the constituency level placed him under the spotlight, leading to his invitation as the guest speaker.

The statement highlighted that under his leadership, the house of assembly has passed over 40 transformational laws aimed at revamping critical sectors of the state’s economy and driving investments across the board.
Additionally, Aiguobarueghian, a legal practitioner and former assistant legal adviser to the state government, has introduced extensive empowerment programmes, improved infrastructure in education, enhanced security apparatus, and facilitated the provision of social amenities. His initiatives also include regular town hall meetings with her constituents, scholarships, poverty alleviation projects, and the construction of good roads and drainage systems.
The Asuelite Meet and Greet event in London underscored the commitment of Edo indigenes abroad to support their preferred candidates and ensure effective governance in their home state.
