Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa

Members of the Ondo State All Progressives Congress (APC) caucus in the House of Representatives have vowed to work for the victory of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa in the forthcoming off-cycle governorship election in the state.

The eight caucus members said that their resolve to rally support for the governor was to dispel the insinuation of not being on the same page with Aiyedatiwa on his gubernatorial ambition.

The caucus, represented by four of the eight members, gave the promise during a courtesy visit to the governor at the Presidential Lodge of the Government House in Akure, the state capital.

According to Adelegbe, the visit was to erase any doubt on whether or not the members of the National Assembly are fully supporting the governor in the coming election.

He said that members of the caucus had resolved to mobilise grassroots support and votes for Aiyedatiwa in the election to make his victory a landslide. On his part, the Chairman of the APC in the state, Ade Adetimehin, thanked the House of Representatives members for their timely declaration of support for the governor in the coming election.

Adetimehin said the development promotes unity and would strengthen the party in the state ahead of the November governorship election. In his response, Aiyedatiwa thanked the lawmakers for the visit and declaration of support, which he said, was a testament of their loyalty to the APC.
