
Determined to promote ethical, safe, and high-quality products that meet the diverse needs of Muslim consumers worldwide, the Halal Certification Authority (HCA) is set to enhance the global understanding and implementation of Halal standards across various industries in Nigeria and beyond.
This was disclosed by the Chairman of HCA, Prof. Ibrahim Oreagba, during a media briefing in Lagos to herald the 4th International Halal Seminar of the organisation.
Prof. Oreagba mentioned that the Halal industry has seen remarkable growth over the past few years, not only in food and beverages but also in pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, logistics, tourism and other halal ecosystems. “The growth underscores the increasing demand for Halal products and services, reflecting the expanding Muslim population and the rising awareness of Halal principles among consumers of all backgrounds.”
According to him, the theme of this year’s seminar, ‘Exploring Halal Industry for a Balanced Growth and Development’ would highlight HCA’s commitment to fostering growth, development, innovation and sustainability within the Halal industry. Noting that to meet the evolving needs of consumers and address global challenges, it is essential to integrate sustainable practices and cutting-edge technologies into our operations.”
Oreagba noted that the seminar which will commence on August 14, 2024, at Radisson Blue Ikeja will be graced by a diverse array of speakers, including industry experts, scholars, and business leaders, who will share their insights and experiences on a wide range of topics.
“These will include the latest advancements in Halal certification processes, emerging trends in Halal products, and the role of technology in enhancing the transparency and efficiency of Halal supply chains. More importantly, it is a master class addressing Halal Assurance Systems. He said the key objective of this seminar is to facilitate meaningful dialogue and collaboration among stakeholders.
