A total of 123 graduates of Edo College have benefited from the prize sponsorship of the Edo College Old Boys Association (ECOBA) Lagos Branch at the school’s Graduation and Prize Giving Day.
The graduates, who excelled in various subjects, sports, drama, and music, received prizes in 25 categories sponsored by ECOBA Lagos through its education foundation, ELEF. The prizes recognised their outstanding academic achievements and talents.
In addition to the individual prizes, two trophies were awarded to the cleanest boarding house and the best class in French, donated by Late Ambassador Vincent Okobi.
In his keynote address, immediate past President of ECOBA, Dr. Reuben Osahon, emphasised the transformative power of education and the impact of Edo College on its students.
“Your bonds and friendships formed here are invaluable; some of us are beneficiaries today because of the fact that we went to Edo College,” he remarked, highlighting the enduring connections fostered by the school.
Representing former Edo State Governor Chief Lucky Igbinedion, Engr. Elvis Obaseki, MD of ITV and an old student, congratulated the graduates on their achievement.
“Your hard work, dedication, and commitment to excellence have brought us to this proud moment,” he said, encouraging them to uphold the integrity and character that the school instils.
Executive Principal Mr. Justice Aigbe also commended the students for their dedication and hard work, which have become synonymous with the institution.
“The prizes sponsored annually by the ECOBA Lagos Education Foundation serve as a testament to the enduring support of the alumni community and their dedication to nurturing future leaders,” he added.
The beneficiaries, who were part of the graduating class, were praised for their hard work and dedication to excellence.
The prize sponsorship by ECOBA Lagos has become an annual tradition, demonstrating the association’s commitment to supporting and rewarding academic excellence in Edo College.
