Kogi governor condemns attack on opponent at Supreme Court premises
The Kogi State government has condemned the “unwarranted attack” on Alhaji Muritala Yakubu Ajaka at the Supreme Court, moments after the determination of the electoral litigations involving the governors of Kogi, Imo and Bayelsa states.
According to a statement by the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Femi Fanwo,
his principal and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo of Kogi State described the conduct of the hoodlums as barbaric, uncivilised and a grave danger to the institution of justice, and urged Nigerians to shun self-help.
Recall that the candidate of the Social Democratic party (SDP), Ajaka, was allegedly attacked at the apex court last Friday, after the ruling of the justices, where Ododo was returned. He had called on security agents to fish out those behind the attack and bring them to justice, to serve as a deterrent to others.
