
The Bauchi State Police Command has announced the arrest of two suspected robbers in the state capital.
Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, Ahmed Wakil, revealed in a statement on Tuesday that the suspects admitted to their involvement in aiding armed robbery operations and taking various valuable items from multiple homes.
The statement noted the recovery of stolen items, including five laptops, four mobile phones, five power banks, one router, six wristwatches, one jam box, and one clipper, as a significant achievement.
According to the statement, the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), led by Sani Mohammed, and in collaboration with the Yan Committee, intercepted a tricycle carrying suspicious individuals in the Unguwan Jahun area of Bauchi metropolis in the early hours of Monday, August 26, 2024.

The statement continued, “Despite the suspects’ attempt to flee, Aliyu A. Aliyu, known as Jagaba, aged 24, and Abdulrahman Ibrahim, known as Abdun Umma, aged 17, both from the Jahun area of Bauchi metropolis, were successfully apprehended.”
The command is continuing its investigation to capture the remaining members of the gang. Commissioner of Police Auwal Musa Muhammad commended the Rapid Response Squad for their efforts and assured citizens of his commitment to tackling criminal activities in the state.
