A group known as Prayer for the Nigerian Armed Forces and other Security Agencies (PNAFSA) has urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to take decisive action against the attack and killing of security operatives by members of the Shiite Islamic group during their procession.

The group said condemning the act was insufficient; this came in response to the recent attack and killing of policemen on duty in Abuja, as well as the setting ablaze of three operational vehicles.

The group’s convener, Mary Abayomi Fatile, emphasised the importance of taking stringent action against the members of the Shiite group and bringing perpetrators and their sponsors to justice.

She called on all Nigerians to provide helpful information to the police on fleeing members’ whereabouts so they could be pursued and brought to justice.

The group also called for collective action and unity as a society to reject violence and extremism in all its forms, creating a culture of peace, tolerance, and respect for human life. It emphasised the need to ensure that those who commit such heinous crimes are brought to justice.
