
Midea, a leading global provider of air conditioning solutions has relaunched into the Nigeria market. The company, which seeks to provide solutions to the country’s power challenges for households, returned with a comprehensive range of products designed to meet the diverse needs of modern Nigerian homes.
The event tagged ‘Powering Progress: Midea Dealers Conference 2024’, was also a platform for the company to showcase its latest technology which include energy efficient refrigerators, smart air conditioners and washing machines among others to dealers who will sell to end users.
Speaking at the event, Regional Sales Director, Midea, Bright Yao, said the company considers Nigeria a big potential market where her people deserve better quality and affordable products.
He said: “Our product is with cutting-edge technology. In the last five years, we increased investment on Research and Development (R&D) to generate a new generation of products with smart Wi-Fi and a lot of cutting-edge technology.”
Yao expressed the confidence that Midea already has its own segment and will do well with their range of new products to compete with others. “We respect the competitors. If they are doing good, we also learn from them. But we have our strong points too. I think we will grow our business, make a more win-win business opportunity for all the partners in Midea.”
Managing Director, Care Global Africa Limited, Maneesh Nanda, said with the relaunch of the company, Nigerians should expect a new phase because the times are tough and they are focusing on improved connection with consumers.
Nanda promised that consumers should expect great quality and more feature-packed products at affordable prices. “Midea is a known brand and it’s more pocket-friendly. It’s a value-for-money brand and a good quality product at affordable prices.”
Midea Marketing Manager, Marina D’Souza, affirmed the strong belief in the Nigerian market, saying Nigeria is an important country for the brand. “We love the country and its people. We see the potential that exists in this country and it makes absolute sense for us to relaunch Midea in Nigeria.”
Speaking on what makes Midea products stand out in the market, D’Souza said: “I love the fact that our products are made with friendly sentiment in it. In a world of increasingly complicated technologies and stuff like that, we keep ourselves simple. But our products are not. There are a whole lot of features and technologies that are there in each and every product. You just have to experience it to get a better idea about it.”
A digital creator, Omotara Lawrence, said Midea products are great for new couples who are just starting a family, particularly if they are looking for comfort and fast results. Her husband, also a digital creator, Lawrence Alabi, singled out Midea products for its reliability, affordability and durability.
A dealer, Mr. Chuks Ochey, said since he was introduced to the company’s products, he has discovered that they are better than other competing brands.
He said when customers buy their products, it is with the assurance that it is going to serve them well for a long time, especially with their multiple years warrants.
“I for one believe in their products. I think I will use my last blood to help them to do the marketing. I have started it already in Agbor, Delta State where I reside,” Ochey said.
