Group restates commitment to citizens’ wellbeing

The Collectives Club of Remo has restated its commitment to prioritising citizens’ well-being and health. This was seen when the club embarked on a free health exercise for members of the community, comprising many towns and villages as part of its corporate social responsibility.

President of the Collectives Club of Remo, Wole Ogunsanya, said the gesture, which is in its 10th year, was to ensure the health and wellbeing of the community was adequately taken care of.

According to him, the impact of the initiative extends beyond the free health screenings, rather, promoting a culture of health consciousness and community engagement with the sole aim of fostering development in Remo.

He stressed that the club’s tireless efforts had created a ripple effect, inspiring others to prioritise their health and wellbeing. On what it costs the Club to up the gesture, Ogunsaya, was silent on the figures but emphasised that the wellbeing of the people was paramount, hence their commitment to continuing the initiative.

Flagging off the exercise, the Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Noimot Salako, commended the Club on the initiative as part of its continuous efforts to improve the health of the people in the state and environs.

“I commend The Collectives Club for this initiative, which they have been doing for about 10 years, which the people of the community look up to. They have shown that they are ready to show up for the people of the community when they are needed. I say a big thank you to all healthcare workers, who have come. This is a great initiative and with everyone’s support, this will continue to be successful,” she said.

The Guardian gathered that the free health screening week was supported by the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, Sagamu (OOUTH), which took place at The Collectives Club House in GRA Sagamu from August 20 to 23, 2024.
