Experts have said diversity and inclusion will curb the challenges faced in the African business sector. Chief Strategy Officer at Aon Reinsurance Solutions, Mary Alade, emphasised the importance of diversity and inclusion, stating that they remained the cornerstones of thriving and innovative organisations.
Founder and CEO of Africa Specialty Risks, Mikir Shah, expressed readiness to partner on the project and champion diversity and inclusion within the African business sector.
“With five African countries, Kenya, Mauritius, Namibia, Nigeria, and South Africa participating, our involvement underscores the continent’s growing commitment to D&I,” he said.
This was contained in a statement on the upcoming 2024 Dive In Festival, which would be held from September 24 to 26 and feature over 130 hybrid events across 48 countries, including Nigeria and Namibia.
Partner at Clyde & Co, Angela Flaherty, emphasised that a diverse workforce and an inclusive culture were vital for success across industries. The festival, themed ‘A Sustainable Future: The Next 10 Years,’ would focus on cultivating inclusive cultures that drive innovation and address global challenges, particularly within the insurance industry. The festival also aims to highlight the role of leadership in promoting diversity and inclusion (D&I).
