As long as there is persistent activities of the devil and his agents on this earth, Christians are bound to face challenges and afflictions of all kinds because the only duty of the devil is to attack Christians as a way of forcing not to serve God. The devil walks to and fro the surface of the earth seeking for the slightest opportunity to strike any victim at sight. The devil delights in the suffering of the children of God. Having known he will never again enter heaven, he is fighting tooth and nail to prevent people from serving and obeying God, so that, they will not make heaven. He uses human agents to give security reports about every human being on earth. When he knows about an individual, he finds a strategy to attack the person at his or her weakest point.
The only solution to check the devil is to have faith in God, so that, you can squarely face all challenging situations. Isaiah 41:9-13 advised thus: “Thou whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, and called thee from the chief men thereof, and said unto thee, thou art my servant; I have chosen thee, and not cast thee away.10: Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. 11: Behold, all they that were incensed against thee shall be ashamed and confounded: they shall be as nothing; and they that strive with thee shall perish. 12: Thou shalt seek them, and shalt not find them, even them that contended with thee: they that war against thee shall be as nothing, and as a thing of nought. 13: For I the Lord thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, ‘fear not;’ I will help thee.”
The assurance from our God is that His children should not fear any situation, despite the activities of the devil and his agents because God is giving us the much-neededprotection. God is emphatic in telling His children not to fear. When God makes a promising statement, it is incumbent on His children to follow it by faith. He has demonstrated His power by putting into shame all that had risen against His people. God fights for His people in challenging periods. He does notallow His people to be tempted beyond their capability. As long as our faith is in Him, He will not forsake His people in time of need.
God knows that His children solely depend on Him for help in time of trouble. The Bible puts it appropriately in Matthew 15:25-28, saying: “Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me. 26: But he answered and said, ‘it is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it to dogs.’ 27 And she said, ‘truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs, which fall from their masters’ table. 28: Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.”
In the exercise of faith, one needs to be strong and focused to ensure one gets what one is requesting from God. In time of challenging situations, faith is tested, but it is only the strong and faithful ones that excel.
The Bible in Daniel 11:32 says: “And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.” Through faith the children of God withstand all oppositions, overcome them and do exploit for God. It is, therefore, important we build our faith in God. Faith comes by hearing the word of God; in exposing ourselves to the word of God the exploits done in the past through exercise of faith are made known to us and encouragement comes. To build our faith, we need to listen to the preaching of the gospel, read the Bible and learn the previous acts of God as recorded in the Bible. It is only through God that our help comes. The Bible is clear of this in Psalm 121:1-3 saying: “I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. 2: My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth. 3: He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. 4: Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.”
God keeps and protects His children from danger and other challenging situations. He does not sleep; he does not slumber. God is at alert at all times to ensure we are not harmed, starved, disappointed or afflicted. He gives us protection. Whatever any man gets from God is by faith. In any relationship with God, faith must be put into practice. Faith is the currency with which the children of the kingdom of God get their needs from the King, God Himself. We should consistently exercise our faith in God at any time we face challenges or in expectation. In the lead scripture above, the Bible says it is impossible to please God without faith because whoever that comes to Him must believe He is capable of rewarding the people that worship Him. It is in faith thatour fathers of faith served God and were rewarded in various ways.
In Luke 22:31-32 the Bible says: “And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat. 32: But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.” When one has faith in God, one will be shielded from the attack of the devil. It is, therefore, expedient to ensure you do not falter in your faith. God will defend you in any challenging situation in Jesus’ name.Rom.14v23 says: “…For whatever is not of faith is sin.” Even for us to make heaven at the end of this life is by faith. So, what is that challenging situation that you are facing now? It is only by unshakable faith in God that you can surmount it.
At this juncture, may l let you know that if you are still outside the kingdom, you need to make haste now and by faith, come to Jesus Christ before it is too late, for there is no more time. 1Cor7v29 says: ”But this l say, brethren, the time is short…. ” Heb. 9: 27 says: “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.”
Remember, you are not the owner of your life (1Cor. 6:19-20). He that purchased you at a price (owns you) and can call you at anytime, even now! And if it happens now, what account are you going to give to God? Therefore, surrender your life to Jesus Christ before it is too late.
