Plans have been concluded by the West Africa Sustainability Summit and Awards (WASSA) 2024 to recognise organisations that have made significant strides in sustainability.

According to a statement by ESG Impact Consulting Limited, awards will be presented to organisations for their efforts in enhancing the quality of life, reducing environmental impact, and contributing to the achievement of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The firm said the summit, which has the theme ‘Creating a Sustainable West Africa: How Smart Companies Turn Sustainability into Billion Dollar Businesses,’ would focus on how successful organiations are building sustainable brands.

Slated to be held on September 30, 2024, in Lagos, it also said it would provide a platform for the exchange of ideas on the importance of sustainability in business operations and brand development, where participants would be encouraged to adopt best practices that link sustainability with brand building.

It said participants would gain insights into how Africa’s top brands integrate sustainability into their core strategies, adding that it would feature in-depth analysis of emerging trends in sustainability, equipping businesses with tools to improve productivity, manage risks, and safeguard customer well-being.
