The event, set to be the largest tech gathering in North Central Nigeria, will feature a range of workshops, networking opportunities, and keynote speeches aimed at advancing the local tech ecosystem.
With over 2,000 expected attendees, DevFest Ilorin 2024 seeks to position Ilorin as a burgeoning tech hub. This year’s theme highlights the importance of inclusivity and accessibility in technology, focusing on advancements in artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, and mobile development.
Organized by GDG Ilorin, the conference will feature prominent tech figures, including Abdul Ahmad(Areous), Product Designer at Niyo Labs, Elizabeth Alli, Founder of DesignerUp, Kamaldeen Yusuf, Managing Director of Malhub, and John Oba, Cofounder of Startup List and Technical Lead at NiyoGroup. In addition to keynote talks, attendees can look forward to a series of workshops on AI, mobile, and cloud technologies.
Among the event’s standout features are hands-on workshops covering AI, mobile, and cloud tech, a private networking day for attendees to connect with industry leaders, and exhibitions showcasing the latest tech innovations. The event will also include a must-attend keynote speech by Abdulhakeem Adams, a founder at sidebridge, and a panel discussion featuring Temi, Khaerat, Tosin and more .
According to a member of the organizing team, Abdulaziz Akanbi, DevFest Ilorin 2024 will foster learning and collaboration, equipping participants with valuable skills while encouraging partnerships between local developers and global tech companies. As part of its community outreach, GDG Ilorin has partnered with organizations like Malhub, StartupList Africa, and IHS Innovation Hub to provide free tickets to students and young tech enthusiasts, ensuring inclusivity and a wide-reaching impact.
