Group enlightens students on career prospects
In its efforts to support young people in their education, the Rotary Club of Isolo recently organised a career seminar for students across six secondary schools in the community to assist them in making right choices and charting the right path.
The students were drawn from Holy Saviour’s College, Isolo, Metropolitan Senior College, Isolo Senior High School, and Ansar-Ud-Deen College, Isolo, among others.
At the event, held at Ansar-Ud-Deen College, Isolo, the Human Resource professional, Dr Adetutu Ogunbiyi, who took the participants on ‘Career exploration and future planning,’ said for the students to actualise their dreams, there is a process they must follow, which he listed as an action plan, and step by step movement in building their careers, while avoiding distractions.
Teaching the students on ‘Relationship and communication,’ Chief Executive Officer, Duke TV Online, Duke Garbadeen, emphasised the importance of communication, while he also fired their imagination on how the world would be without communication and relationships.
According to him, information is gathered only through effective communication and relationships can only start through communication, while conflict, which is inevitable in human life, can only be resolved through dialogue and effective communication.
Speaking with The Guardian at the event, the President, Rotary Club of Isolo, Tokunbo Allison, said the project was to encourage the students on the need to be focused and guide them in their career choices to become better persons. She also lauded the speakers for equipping the students with life nuggets that will prepare them for the future.
