Activities are underway for the inauguration of Edo State’s governor-elect, Monday Okpebholo, as the Edo State Government has established the State Joint Transition Committee ahead of the ceremony scheduled for Friday.
The inaugural meeting of the Edo State Joint Transition Committee will take place at the John Odigie-Oyegun Public Service Academy (JOOPSA) at 10 a.m. on Friday.
During a briefing in Benin City, Chris Nehikhare, the Edo State Commissioner for Communication and Orientation, confirmed that the state government has received the names of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Transition Committee members in response to a prior letter sent to the party.
The primary goal of the Transition Committee is to ensure a smooth transfer of power. Nehikhare expressed anticipation for the collaborative efforts of all committee members in facilitating a seamless transition.
Members of the committee representing the state government include Joseph Eboigbe (SSG/Chairman), Eire Ifueko Alufohai Esq. (Secretary/Coordinator), and other advisors and members from various sectors.
The APC side of the committee is led by Dr. Pius Odubu and includes notable members from the party, tasked with working alongside state officials to ensure a coordinated transition process.
