• Alleges APC instigating crises in opposition parties
• Flags off campaign in Ondo, seeks votes for Edema
• Gov urges supporters to translate support to votes

The New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) has disclosed its readiness to be part of the formation of a coalition among opposition parties that will unseat the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and President Bola Tinubu from power in 2027.

National Chairman of the party, Ajuji Ahmed, said that there were plans to ensure that the coalition materialises, alleging that the crises rocking opposition parties were strategies to ensure that Tinubu remains in power beyond 2027.

Ahmed, who spoke during the flag-off campaign of the party in Akure, Ondo State capital, ahead of the forthcoming off-cycle governorship election in the state, emphasised that there would be no room for a plot to manipulate the outcome of the poll.

National Chairman of the NNPP, after presenting the party’s flag to the governorship candidate, Olugbega Edema, said: “This campaign flag-off is a resounding success. It met all the criteria that we expected, and we believe moving forward from now, we will have a very good and successful campaign for the election.

Edema, who urged the electorate not to be intimidated by the power of incumbency, appealed to them to resist any form of vote trading that could prolong the current hardship in the land.

He reeled out his seven-point agenda to include food security, optimal healthcare services, a good road network, youth empowerment, infrastructure, industrialisation, investment, and free education from primary school to tertiary institutions under his administration if elected.

MEANWHILE, Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has appealed to voters in the state to translate their support into voting for him during the November 16, 2024 governorship election in the state.

He also assured that more impactful projects would be delivered if elected, stating that the current achievements of his administration so far are just the beginning.

Aiyedatiwa, who spoke while addressing a crowd of supporters that thronged the senatorial flag-off of his campaign in Ondo South with a rally at Ore, headquarters of Odigbo Local Council, expressed gratitude to the people for their overwhelming support.

He attributed the support of the people to the development his administration had brought in a short period.

In his remarks, a former gubernatorial aspirant and prominent APC leader, Olusola Oke, expressed confidence in the party’s stronghold in the southern district ahead of the election.

The Deputy Governor, Dr OlayideAdelami, also reinforced the message of progress, urging the people to continue supporting Aiyedatiwa’s administration that focused on the welfare of the people of the state.
