The PBAT Door-to-Door Movement has inaugurated its Taraba State structure as part of efforts to mobilise grassroots support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice-President Kashim Shettima ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The inauguration ceremony, held in Jalingo, was attended by Taraba state governor, Dr Agbu Kefas, founder of the movement, High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, National Coordinator, Comrade Adekanbi Sunday Asuku, and leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Speaking, Governor Kefas said Taraba was prepared to mobilise support for President Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
He said his administration was implementing the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Tinubu administration through various development projects and programmes across the state.
Representing the founder of the movement, Kestop Pondi urged Taraba residents to support President Tinubu’s re-election, saying continuity would allow the administration to consolidate its economic reforms and development programmes.
Pondi said government policies required time to achieve lasting results, urging members of the movement to extend their mobilisation activities to communities, households, churches and mosques across the state.
The National Coordinator, Comrade Adekanbi Sunday Asuku, also called on Taraba residents to sustain their support for the APC.
Asuku attributed what he described as improvements in security and education to policies implemented by the Tinubu and Kefas administrations, and urged members to intensify grassroots mobilisation ahead of the elections.
The Director-General of the Tinubu-Shettima campaign structure in Taraba, Danladi Baido, assured the party leadership that the campaign team would mobilise support for APC candidates at all levels in the 2027 elections.
Also speaking, the Taraba State APC Chairman, Abubakar Bawa, pledged the party’s commitment to mobilising support for its candidates during the elections.
The organisers said the newly inaugurated structure would strengthen the movement’s presence at the grassroots and enhance its engagement with communities across Taraba ahead of the 2027 general elections.
