
In an effort to enhance financial literacy for women, a finance platform, FinTribe, at the weekend, held a workshop to equip participants in financial planning and others.
The one-day workshop, with over 7,000 women participants, placed emphasis on advancing gender inclusion. Besides, it aimed at improving women’s financial literacy, which would enable them have access to financial services, build wealth, contribute to gender equality and economic empowerment.
Founder, FinTribe, Jennifer Awirigwe, said that for a woman to be financially empowered, she must have the tools need, adding that the goal for the workshop is for women to be in the Nigerian exchange and capital market.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Nigerian Exchange Group (NGX) Regulation, Olufemi Shobanjo, noted that financial information and education must be provided for women.
Shobanjo stated that innovation is key and always goes ahead of regulation. A popular Nollywood actress, Shaffy Bello, said that every woman needs to make her own money.
