Unveiling heroism in product development, management – Brandwone boss

Reasons we consider product managers as tech heroes

Do you want to become a tech hero? Then, it’s time to skill up. The future isn’t coming, the future is now. Let’s see why. Who are product managers?
Product managers are talented individuals who demonstrate their skills that will result in successful and effective products.

Now, to the real question. Is the position of a product manager a tech role? Well, whether a product manager has ‘technical’ in their job title or not, it is largely semantic and company-dependant. There are plenty of product managers who were originally coders or possess technical degrees, while there are occasionally technical product managers lacking a particular technical background.

Now, what makes this bunch special? Let’s take a look at some features that make exceptional heroes and superpowers.l

Dreamers: They focus on the long-term vision and shaping of the product. Thinking years into the future, actually building skyscrapers in thin air. They plot a way to get there, navigating through space and time. They use well-structured data to drive every decision.

Executors: They are execution-focused, working to ensure things are delivered on time and within or under budget. They are great at managing timelines and aligning cross-functional teams; a skill most developers may not easily embrace.

Risk-takers: They are usually lone wolves, willing to take risks no one else can, and they can challenge the status of delivery. They assume the role of a founder, they’ve got access to a wealth of useful resources, which makes them thrive in ambiguous situations.

Superior designers: They are super creative and have a keen eye for all things design. They are constantly in pursuit of superior User Experience (UX) and award-winning designs ensuring a fully functional product that delivers its promise to the users beyond their expectations.

Technical inclined: They are mostly technically inclined and understand codes either based on experience or were perhaps formerly programmers. Hence, they have a strong sync with the developers and engineers to solve technical problems.

Lead managers: They excel at managing stakeholders and navigating internal politics building consensus across teams, socializing, and resolving conflicts.

Market expert: This is termed a ‘rare power’ because their experience in the industry helps them understand the latest market trends, opportunities, and dynamics.

There are many more powers to brag about, but let’s stop here for now.

Which superpowers do you have? We are all driven by different things in life. But regardless of your superpower, if you’re wondering and doubting yourself, then you may have difficulty scaling further. This is an encouragement to help you leverage your superpowers and make a difference in the tech world today by discovering your product management skills.

As the tech industry continues to evolve, the role of product managers and product developers becomes increasingly critical.

Find yourself and identify with your superhero power. It’s time to put on your cape!
