
The Ikorodu Doyen Lions Club has organised free eye screening exercise as well as donation of reading glasses for the people of Apeka community in Ikorodu.
The event, held at Melpbat Green Primary School hall in Apeka Estate was under the auspices of a team of experienced optometrists and ophthalmologists from Ajayi Medical Center who conducted the eye screening exercise and discovered victims of cataracts and refractive errors.
The Club assured us that the surgeries would be sponsored at a later date.
Public Relations Officer, The Apeka Community Development Association (CDA), Alhaji Lawal Sanni and the beneficiaries commended the club for the exercise.
Oluwole Olabode, president of the Ikorodu Doyen Lions club, said the project was an expression of the club’s members’ commitment to serving the community. He also commended the CDA and medical crew for their support.
Over 400 members of the community benefitted from the screening exercise.
