Bishop Francis Wale Oke

PFN President gives empowerment in memory of daughter
A former Vice Chancellor of Ajayi Crowther University and Bishop of Ilesha Diocese, Anglican Communion, Prof. Dapo Asaju; the Founding Partner of Future Africa and former Chief Executive Officer of Flutterware, Iyinoluwa Aboyeji; and the Founding Bishop of Victory Life Ministries International, Bishop Mike Bamidele, have called on African youths to rise and take over leadership, saying they have the qualities, creativity, innovation and energy to redirect the course of history.

They made the call during the Dorcas Oke Hope Alive Initiatives (DOHAL) Foundation 2024 public lecture held at the auditorium of the Precious Cornerstone University, Ibadan.

The event was hosted by Bishop and Rev. (Mrs.) Francis Wale Oke, and empowerment was done in memory of their daughter, Dorcas Oluwaseyitanfunmi Oke, who was supposed to be 40 years old this year.

Asaju charged the youths to take over the leadership of the country.

He, therefore, urged the youths to use their population advantage, strength, energy, knowledge, innovation, vision, prosperity, and professionalism to take over the leadership of the country.

In his submission, Aboyeji called for the teaching of leadership like entrepreneurship in schools.

He said the African child must be taught resoluteness, responsibility, resourcefulness, resilience, and non-relentlessness, adding that youths have the opportunity to lead without waiting for anyone.

Bishop Bamidele said the African child needs a model, skills, financial support, and scholarship.

He, therefore, charged them to imbibe leadership skills.

Bishop Oke and his wife charged the youths to be agents of change.
