Speaking at a briefing to mark his company’s 26th anniversary, Omotola added that entrepreneurs and not politicians will change the fortune of Nigeria as seen in every developed country.
“On the economy, this is the most challenging time in the life of our country, and you need to say what you already know as to how citizens are suffering like never before.
“As the hardship persists, so do opportunities and we must not give in to the hardship but rise to the challenge and defeat it. This should be our attitude. Let it be clear that our present hardship could not be resolved singularly by the government but by the collaboration with the private sectors.”
Omotola, however, noted that Nigeria paraded one of the most terrible business elites that have sucked the country so much without return in terms of value addition.
Speaking about his company’s progress, he said: “In the last 26 years, we have weathered the storm such as banking reforms, economic recession, austerity, insecurity, FX crisis, petrol scarcity and other economic hardships we now face.”
