Meanwhile, the Lagos Island Polio Eradication Awareness Walk was led by past Assistant Governor /, Chairman District Polio Plus Committee, Adenike Abdul-Azeez. She was supported by other presidents and club members.

Participants carried flags and banners, with inscriptions “End Polio now.” They walked through Obalende via Awolowo Road, before terminating at Dodan Barracks, where no fewer than 20  kids were immunised.

Chairman Polio Committee District 9111, Jide Ogunjimi noted, “This event is to emphasise the need to continuously immunise our children between ages zero-five to stop the spread of polio.”
