Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), on Wednesday defended Senator Francis over a viral video, where he was allegedly instigating the killing and maiming of Accord members in Ijesaland.

The party also chastised Governor Ademola Adeleke for demanding arrest of Fadahunsi, contending that he lacks moral standing to make such demand.

The opposition party in a statement by its director of media and information, Kola Olabisi, noted that the governor was still bittered about the defection of Fadahunsi to the APC, saying Accord party base had been depleted in Osun East senatorial district.

Describing the video as being doctored by Adeleke’s camp to spread false narrative, the APC clarified that it does not believe in jungle justice to settle political score.

The statement reads, “We are stating unequivocally that the accusation of the Accord Party functionaries in this regard was borne out of the desperation of the players of the relatively unknown political party to act maliciously against the highly respected and peace-loving federal lawmaker under the guise of playing politics.

The party noted that the recent adoption of its governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji popularly known as AMBO by the former Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola; former Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Fatai Akinbade; former South-West Deputy Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), had destabilised Adeleke’s camp.

“The trio of Oyinlola, Akinbade, Oladipo are super active stakeholders of the PDP in Osun State who had removed the metaphorical carpet of the party that Adeleke had been banking on its use for its re-election bid under the Accord,”

Olabisi, who maintained that fear of losing Saturday’s election was hunting Adeleke, added: “It is worrisome why it has been pretty difficult for the self-acclaimed chief security officer of the state to condemn the ongoing extra-judicial killings of the innocent members and supporters of the APC in Ijesaland”.

“The rattled Governor Adeleke should leave Senator Fadahunsi alone and stop acting on his quotation out of context and face the myriads of the socio-political and economic problems that his incompetence has attracted to the state, “Olabisi averred.
