The governor highlighted key priorities for the new leadership to include community development, addressing infrastructure needs, and improving public services at the grassroots level.

IN Abia, Governor Alex Otti, yesterday, charged the 17 newly elected council chairmen to immediately reach out to those who did not make it in the election, bringing everyone together and making it known to them that they (Chairmen) are willing to listen to their development ideas and work with them for the speedy development of their local council areas.

He gave them the charge after they were administered oath of office by the state Solicitor General saying: “You will be 100 per cent responsible for the development outputs in your different local councils going forward. The 17 council chairmen comprise 15 Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) and Two Young Progressives Party (YPP) members.
