The National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC) is to enhance skill acquisition on software development for automotive design in the auto industry.
Speaking in Abuja at a training in collaboration with Midas IT Co of South Korea, NADDC’s Director General, Oluwemimo Joseph Osanipin, disclosed that the training of some engineers on Midas NFX software automotive Design Skill Boot camp was conceived by the agency to address the over $1 billion the country loses to import parts of vehicles.
He emphasised that the automotive aftermarket represented a significant economic opportunity, and harnessing local talent to design and manufacture the parts such as batteries, brake pads, lubricants and filters could stimulate job creation and enhance self-sufficiency.
The DG urged the participants to utilise the opportunity for skill development in the interest of the industry and their personal growth.
Also speaking, the Managing Director FAZSAL Nigeria Limited, Dr Abdullawal Zubair, commended the NADDC boss for creating the platform and opportunity to train the participants.
