The Permanent Secretary in Federal Housing and Urban Development, Dr. Marcus Ogunbiyi, has stated that there will be a monitoring and review mechanism that will ensure the effective implementation of resolutions of the Council on Lands, and others.
Ogunbiyi spoke at the National Council in Gombe, expressing concern over the non-implementation of such recommendations over the years, and the inability of the Ministry to set up measures to ensure comprehensive compliance by all stakeholders in the housing sector.
He reminded the Body of Permanent Secretaries that the meeting would serve as a reminder of collective responsibility to advance the development of the housing and urban development sector in Nigeria.
The Permanent Secretary therefore outlined some challenges facing the housing sector, like shortages of affordable housing, rapid urbanization, and poor access to land, saying, they will tackle them through the Renewed Hope Cities and Estates Housing Programme.
