
The All Progressive Congress (APC) National Chairman, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has said that the next target for the party is to claim power in Osun and Oyo State respectively in the Southwest region
Ganduje said this after the victory of the party in the Ondo State governorship election, where Aiyedatiwa was declared the winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Celebrating Aiyedatiwa’s victory, Ganduje said, “Our next target in the southwest, and you know we are good at hitting our targets, is Osun State and Oyo State. We assure you that we will do all that is possible to bring them into the fold.”
Ganduje also noted the party’s recent victory in Edo and Ondo States was an attestation that APC has the full backing of Nigerians, assuring that the party will remain in power for a long time.
He commended INEC for conducting a transparent, credible, and peaceful election, which consolidated Nigeria’s democratic gains.

He also lauded the security agencies and stakeholders for ensuring a conducive environment for voters to exercise their franchise freely.
Aiyedatiwa of the APC was declared winner having won in all 18 local governments of the states.
INEC’s Returning Officer, Prof Olayemi Akinwumi, said APC’s Ayedatiwa polled 366,781 votes to defeat Agboola Ajayi of PDP, who got 117,845 votes.
“That Ayedatiwa Lucky Orimisan of APC, having satisfied the requirement of the law is hereby returned elected,” he said.
Ganduje assured Aiyedatiwa of the party’s support and commitment to his administration’s success.
