
Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has approved the total rehabilitation of the Ido-Eruwa 48-kilometer road.
The approval came during the groundbreaking ceremony of Eruwa AgricHub held at Igboora on Thursday.
Makinde said the state is blessed with farm settlements, including Fashola Farm sited on 1000 hectares.
The governor said the project had greatly attracted investors from across Nigeria and some parts of Africa.
He noted that the Eruwa AgriHub sitting on nearly 4,000 hectares of land in conjunction with the African Bank of Agriculture will enable job opportunities for youths in the state and improve food production, adding that he had approved a sum of N2billion to the contractor handling the Ido- Eruwa Road for better accessibility.
In his remark, the speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Adebo Ogundoyin, who lauded the Seyi Makinde-led administration in the development of agriculture through innovation and investment, described the Eruwa AgricHub as an institutional legacy for generations to come.
Present at the event included the Director General of Afribank of Industries, Special Assistant on Industrialization to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Oyo State Head of Service, commissioners, lawmakers, state cabinet, and traditional and religious leaders.
