Restructuring, system-based regionalism can save Nigeria, says Adejumo
A member of the Patriot Group Committee on Drawing up a New Constitution for Nigeria, Gboyega Adejumo, has said that only a restructured Nigeria and a system based on regionalism with the parliamentary style of government will save the nation from the current economic challenges.
He noted that to save the country, there is a need for restructuring and regionalism, adding that if the drivers of the economy continue this way, its mighty spell doom for the country.
Adejumo, while speaking on the issue of viability of the proposed Ibadan State out of Oyo State, said that the issue of viability is a process potential, considering the resources available in both human and capital.
He said: I would have preferred the state to be called Oluyole as the name is synonymous with our tradition.”
“Trade and commerce have so well been defined, as well as agriculture and we should be able to have a better viability coming out of the two when all exercises are realisable into Ibadan or Oluyole state. It will also unleash the power potentials and the burdens on Ibadan.”
