Eko Lions Club to train youths in productive sectors

The new President of Eko International Lions Club, Adetola Adesanya has put plans in place to train youths in Information and Communications Technology (ICT) and agriculture as part of measures to engage them profitably.

He said this at his investiture ceremony as the fifth President of the Club, stating that it had become necessary to focus on a large number of unemployed youth to train them in areas that would earn them a living.

According to him, a lot of youth who have passed out of school are jobless, but if they can be trained in two major areas, it would go a long way to engaging them profitably.

Adesanya also planned to extend the gesture to secondary schools within the community with learning materials, adding that donations to secondary schools within the community, such as sinking boreholes and building befitting toilets, would be carried out.

The District Governor, Ayodele Tolulope, urged the new president to be courageous, innovative, and a team player, allowing everybody in the club to make their contributions as lions.

he assured Adesanya of his support as the governor,  he urged the club to do everything to address hunger and alleviate poverty.
