
President Bola Tinubu, House of Representatives Speaker Tajudeen Abbas, governors, senators, and other dignitaries attended the wedding fatiha of the children of Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau I. Jibrin.
Two of Barau’s children were married on Friday, with Jibrin Barau I. Jibrin (Abba) tying the knot with Maryam Nasir Ado Bayero, daughter of the Emir of Bichi, while Aisha Barau I. Jibrin married Abubakar Abdulmunaf, son of Dr. Abdulmunaf Yunusa Sarina, President of Azman Group of Companies.
The event, which took place at the National Mosque in Abuja after the two raka’at Juma’at prayers, was officiated by Professor Ibrahim Maqari, the mosque’s Imam. President Tinubu was represented by Speaker Abbas, who served as Wakil* and Waliy for Senator Barau’s children.
APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje served as the Waliy for the Emir of Bichi’s daughter, while Senator Tanko Almakura played the role of Wakil for Abubakar.
The ceremony was attended by dignitaries from across Nigeria, including governors such as Abdulrahman AbdulRazaq (Kwara), Peter Mbah (Enugu), Dauda Lawal (Zamfara), Dikko Umar Radda (Katsina), Ahmed Usman Ododo (Kogi), and Mai Mala Buni (Yobe).
Former Senate President Ahmad Lawan led a delegation of senators, including Ali Ndume, Sani Musa, Ibrahim Bomai, Buhari Abdulfatai, and Shehu Buba, among others.
Some members of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Parliament, including Fourth Deputy Speaker Billay G. Tunkara, were also present.
Presidential aides in attendance included Secretary to the Government of the Federation Senator George Akume, Chief of Staff to the President Femi Gbajabiamila, and National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, among others.
