A massive fire tore through the Yar-Dole motorcycle market in Gusau, Zamfara State, on Saturday evening, leaving traders and residents devastated as the flames consumed shops and stalls worth millions of naira.

Eyewitnesses described the scene as chaotic, as the cause of the fire remains unknown, but its rapid spread left many unable to salvage their goods.

“We don’t know the cause of the fire; we just noticed flames coming from the motorcycle shops. The fire service is still battling to put it out,” said a witness.

Emergency teams from the Zamfara State Fire Service responded promptly to bring the inferno under control. However, the extent of the destruction has left many shop owners counting their losses.

Authorities have yet to confirm the total value of the damage or the possible cause of the fire, but investigations are expected to begin as soon as the situation is under control.
