INTERPOL has published Red Notices for 14 Nigerian nationals wanted across several countries for crimes including human trafficking, drug smuggling, and organised fraud.
These individuals are accused of participating in criminal activities spanning multiple continents, highlighting the international dimension of such offences involving Nigerian suspects.
Felix Omoregie, one of the suspects, is wanted by Belgian authorities for allegedly leading a criminal organisation exploiting minors for prostitution.
Jessica Edosomwan is sought by French authorities for human trafficking involving multiple victims.
In Argentina, Uche Egbue faces charges of drug trafficking, while Brazil and Uruguay seek Jude Uzoma and Chinedu Ezeunara, respectively, for similar offences.
INTERPOL said these Red Notices are not arrest warrants but tools to alert global law enforcement about individuals of interest.
“A Red Notice is a request to law enforcement worldwide to locate and provisionally arrest a person pending extradition, surrender, or similar legal action. A Red Notice is not an international arrest warrant,” INTERPOL said.
“The individuals are wanted by the requesting member country or international tribunal. Member countries apply their laws in deciding whether to arrest a person.”

Meanwhile experts have called for stronger collaboration to combat the involvement of Nigerians in global crime networks.
“This is a wake-up call for governments to strengthen legal frameworks and international cooperation,” said Dr. Adebayo Onuoha, a security analyst. “We must address the socio-economic factors driving citizens into these networks.”
INTERPOL urged the public to assist by reporting any information about the suspects to their local authorities.
