Implement 2025 budget with human feeling, group urges FG

While accepting the Federal Government’s bold initiatives in the 2025 budget proposals, a group, Christian Conscience, has advised that the implementation must be done with a human face so that Nigerians can enjoy the dividends of democracy.

The group made the declaration after its monthly executive meeting held at Ikeja, Lagos, yesterday. The position of the group was contained in a statement jointly signed by its National President, Dr Yetunde Akinluyi, and the National Secretary, Rev. Dr Kolawole Verrals, which was made available to the journalists.

Drawing an inference from previous laudable policies of the government, the group stressed that oftentimes, implementation has always been the problem.

It, therefore, called on the political class and technocrats in various government offices saddled with the responsibility of the budget implementation to do so with all sincerity and fear of God.

The group further noted that though the current pains and suffering as a result of the Federal Government’s reforms are unbearable for the masses, encouraged by the President’s assurances, in no distant future, the end to such sufferings is in sight.

The group said: “As we enter the festive season, we felicitate with Nigerians and urge them to be their brothers’ keeper by giving to the less privileged in the society.”

“We enjoin Nigerians to celebrate moderately and offer love and generosity to their neighbours that are in need.”
