Manchester United are reportedly weighing up offering Marcus Rashford in a swap deal to land Nigeria and Napoli forward, Victor Osimhen. They are eyeing the swap deal in a bid to provide head coach Ruben Amorim with attacking reinforcements.

United are prepared to let Rashford leave in this January transfer window after he was dropped by Amorim. The forward was left out of four matchday squads, before appearing on the bench in the Red Devils’ 2-0 defeat by Newcastle on Monday.

Rashford will only go to a competitive club and league that would give him a chance of regaining his place in the England squad.

Mail Sport understands he has turned down three mega-money offers from the Saudi Pro League that would eclipse his £315,000-a-week deal at United, and has also ruled out any moves to Turkey.

Despite saying last month that he is ‘ready for a new challenge and the next steps’ in his career, Rashford is open to staying at United where he is under contract until June 2028.

According to the Sun, Man United is targeting Osimhen, who has a £62m release clause in his contract, is currently on loan at Turkish giants Galatasaray.

The Nigerian star moved on loan after been banished from Napoli’s squad after seeing a move to the Premier League fall through in the summer.

Osimhen had been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea during the summer transfer window.

The forward signed for Napoli in 2020 and he has scored 76 goals in 133 games in all competitions for the Italian giants.

He drove Napoli to their first title in 33 years in 2022-23, scoring 26 league goals in his most impressive campaign in blue .

Osimhen has a scored 12 goals in 15 matches this season for Galatasaray and demonstrated his quality by netting twice against Tottenham in the Europa League.

A deal to sign Osimhen would improve Man United’s forward options, with the Red Devils having scored just 21 goals in 19 Premier League matches this season.

Meanwhile, Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim has confirmed Rashford will miss Sunday’s trip to Liverpool because of illness.

“At the moment he is ill,” said Amorim in his United news conference. “He is not training. He is going to be out this week.”
