KNSG approves N2.67b for infrastructure development

Ahmad Bunkure, the newly appointed Special Adviser for Works to Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has passed on.

Bunkure died yesterday at a medical facility in Egypt about 48 hours after he was inaugurated in absentia.

The late engineer was among the 16 new special advisers to the governor who took the oath of allegiance and office on Monday, alongside seven commissioners and permanent secretaries.

Meanwhile, Governor Yusuf has expressed grief over the development.

A statement by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Tofa, yesterday, described Bunkure’s death as a tragic and irreplaceable loss to Kano, his family and the country.

He prayed for Allah’s mercy on the deceased and strength for his family to bear the painful loss.

The governor stated: “This is a heart-breaking moment for us as a government. Bunkure was a dedicated professional, whose expertise and contributions were expected to drive our administration’s vision for development. His loss is deeply felt.”

Condolences have continued to pour in over the transition, including from Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso and state government officials.
