The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Tincan Island Port Strategic Command yesterday announced the interception of narcotics valued at a staggering N134.2 billion.
This was revealed by Commander of Narcotics, Ofoyeju Mitchell, during the command’s 2024 media briefing and Awards Ceremony held at the Grimaldi Conference Hall, Tincan Island Port.
Mitchell noted that these successful operations have significantly shielded the Nigerian economy from the detrimental impacts of illicit drug trade proceeds while safeguarding public health and safety.
Several officers who demonstrated exceptional performance throughout the year, including Assistant Commander of Narcotic (ACN) Adefunke Akundele, were recognised with letters of commendation for their unwavering dedication to drug interdiction efforts.
Also, the event marked a significant milestone with the unveiling of the command’s inaugural newsletter, a first in the history of the Tincan Island Port Strategic Command.
