Nigeria’s Onyemaechi excited to join Olympiacos
Nigerian defender, Bruno Onyemaechi, has expressed his excitement after joining Olympiacos of Greece.
Onyemaechi joined Olympiacos from Boavista of Portugal on Monday with the Greek club announcing his transfer on their official website and social media platforms.
“Olympiacos FC announces the acquisition of international left-back from Nigeria, Bruno Onyemaechi,” the Greek Super League leaders wrote.
“Born on April 3, 1999, in his native Owerri, the 25-year-old comes from Portuguese club, Boavista, where he made 77 appearances, scoring five goals and providing three assists. Bruno, welcome to Olympiacos.”
Onyemaechi thereafter took to social media to express his excitement following his move to Olympiacos.
“New home. God is the greatest,” the defender wrote in a post he shared on his official X account on Monday night.
The Super Eagles’ left-back had played 18 games for Boavista this season before his exit, scoring three goals and making one assist.
In the past, Onyemaechi played for Feirense, making 31 appearances and Vila Real.
He is also an active member of the Nigerian national team, having been capped 11 times for the Super Eagles.
