Prayer Pemu, the Special Assistant on Entertainment to the Delta State Governor, recently met with Tega Oghenejobo, the newly appointed President and Chief Operating Officer of Mavin Records, at the label’s Lagos headquarters. The meeting focused on fostering a stronger partnership between Mavin Records and Delta State’s entertainment industry.

Mavin Records, home to Afrobeat superstar Rema, has been a driving force in shaping contemporary African music. With its strategic partnership with Universal Music Group (UMG), the label continues to expand its influence on a global scale. Given Delta State’s deep-rooted contributions to Nigeria’s creative industry, Pemu’s visit underscored the state government’s commitment to positioning Delta as a major entertainment hub.

During the meeting, Pemu personally extended the Delta State Governor’s appreciation to Oghenejobo for Mavin Records’ contributions to the growth of Nigerian music. He also highlighted the importance of deeper collaboration between the label and Delta State, particularly in talent development and positioning the region’s artists for global recognition.
