
American music icon Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carter, popularly known as Beyoncé, has once again made history by becoming the first Black woman in 50 years to win a Grammy in a country music category.
She achieved this remarkable feat at the 67th Grammy Awards, which took place on Sunday, February 2, 2025, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, USA.

Beyoncé, known for her ability to dominate multiple genres, won the Best Country Album award for her project Cowboy Carter. The album, which showcased her unique take on country music, was among the most talked-about releases of the year.
Beyoncé Leads Grammy Nominations with 11 Nods
The singer, who has spent over two decades at the top of the global music scene, led this year’s Grammy nominations with 11 nods.
She was nominated in key categories, including Album of the Year and Best Country Album for Cowboy Carter. Her No. 1 country hit, Texas Hold ’Em, earned nominations for Song of the Year, Record of the Year, and Best Country Song.
Beyoncé also received a nomination for Best Country Solo Performance for 16 Carriages and Best Americana Performance for Ya Ya. Her presence in the country music categories highlights her versatility and ability to push boundaries in the industry.
Beyoncé’s Record-Breaking Grammy Legacy
Beyoncé has been rewriting history at the Grammy Awards for years. In 2023, she became the most awarded artist in Grammy history, securing her 32nd Grammy and surpassing the previous record held by Georg Solti, the late Hungarian-British conductor. That record-breaking win was credited to her 2022 album Renaissance, which dominated the Best Dance/Electronic Album category.

The 2025 Grammys began on an emotional note as the Recording Academy paid tribute to victims of the recent wildfires that devastated Los Angeles. Weeks after the city battled raging fires, the organizers used the platform to raise funds for MusiCares Fire Relief, a campaign designed to support those affected by the disaster.
In a touching moment, several Los Angeles firefighters who played key roles in battling the wildfires were invited to the red carpet and honoured during the ceremony.
