Edo speaker seeks Assembly’s withdrawal from suit against LG chairmen
Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, Blessing Agbebaku, has sought for the withdrawal from the suit filed against the chairmen of the 18 local government councils.
In a letter addressed to Counsel to the Applicants, C. O. Esosa Esq. by counsel to the speaker, R. O. Isenalumhe & Co., Barristers, Solicitor’s and Notary Public, the speaker said he did not instruct anyone to initiate legal action in the name of the Edo State House of Assembly.
“We are solicitors to the speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly. Rt. Hon. Blessing Agbebaku, who is hereinafter referred to as Our Client. We have our Client’s definite instructions to write as hereinafter appearing:
“That Our Client read on social media with rude shock of the pendency of the above action commenced in the name of the Edo State House of Assembly as 1st Claimant and the Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly as 2 Clamant.
“That the Speaker did not instruct anybody to commence the shove action in the name of the Edo State House of Assembly and his name. Consequently, it is Out Client’s instruction to direct you and we hereby direct you to immediately withdraw the name of the Edo State House of Assembly and the name of the Speaker, Edo State House of Assembly from the aforesaid suit.
“Our Client, in addition to the aforesaid, demands a written apology for the embarrassment caused to him and the Edo State House of Assembly.”
