The Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, has sworn in five permanent secretaries for service delivery in the state. According to him, they are the drivers of Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), while delivering services to the people.

Zulum, represented by his deputy, Usman Kadafur, stated, “As government is a shared responsibility with delegated power and authority, you are to improve the living conditions of the people.”

Besides service delivery, he said that the permanent secretaries must work tirelessly in addressing the challenges of Boko Haram insurgency, infrastructure deficits, and poverty among unemployed youths and women.

Additionally, he urged the permanent secretaries to work closely with their respective commissioners, carrying subordinate staff in the discharge of functions to succeed.

Kadafur, therefore, urged them to adopt innovation, creativity, and the prudent management of both capital and human resources. The Deputy Governor also charged them to uphold integrity, transparency, and accountability while discharging their duties.

Kadafur continued, “You are also to promote the policy thrust and development agenda of the Zulum administration,” he said, noting that it aligns with the State’s 25-year development framework and 10-year strategic transformation plan.

The sworn-in permanent secretaries include Aminu Chamalwa, Mala Waziri, Aji Yakub, Aisha Umara, and Engr. Ibrahim Baba.
