How Eboh Bomb Got His Groove Back
You may have seen this particular American movie, titled, ‘How Stella Got Her Groove Back’, yes? Yes, you sure may have, especially if you do not belong to this present Soro soke generation that believes the world started when Twitter, sorry, X, and Facebook were created. If T4T’s memory still serves him right, the Hollywood movie starred legend Whoopi Goldberg.

Enough about that American movie! The story here is about Nigerian popular comedian Oghenerukevwe Michael Eboh aka Eboh Bomb and how he got his groove back. Eboh Bomb is one of the funniest comedians in the country at the moment, but for over a year now, T4T has been seeing him walking around, mostly on foot or in taxis. By the way, the comedian lives in the same area of Lagos with T4T so their paths cross most times. But early in the week, T4T sighted him driving a sleek car without number plates. Really? Yes, really. On more than two occasions, Eboh Bomb had driven past T4T and hailed him with all his teeth showing like one advertising a teeth cleaning product. One does not need a Babalawo to tell T4T that Eboh Bomb had ‘picked’ a car and from inside sources, it is about his fifth car.
So, no more trekking and jumping taxis. Now, you know why T4T had to use that headline for this piece of news.

The ‘King Herod’ Oba In Ogun State
ABOUT four decades ago, when T4T wrote his JAMB examination, he saw in the bible a portion where it was narrated that a certain powerful King Herod of that time delivered a very powerful speech and the crowd hailed him saying “only the gods could speak this way”. It was said that God immediately got angry and struck him dead on the spot and even worms devoured his body. That was the biblical account of what happened to King Herod.

Fast forward to 2025, we all saw in a video, Oba Abdulsemiu Adewale Ogunjobi, the Olorile of Orile-Ifo, a sleepy town in Ogun State, Nigeria, behave like a modern day King Herod, but thank God that unlike in the past, we now have a more lenient ‘God’, so he was not struck dead instantly as he bullied an elderly man.

Oba Ogunjobi was heard telling the cowed kneeling man so many unprintable things. T4T had someone interpret in English most of the things the ‘unroyal’ father told the man. News reports said the government of Ogun State had suspended the Oba. Thought he was an almighty character!

“In a bid to ensuring dignity of persons and for the protection of sanctity of our revered traditional institution, the Ogun State Government led by Prince Dapo Abiodun, has placed Oba Abdulsemiu Adewale Ogunjobi, the Olorile of Orile-Ifo on six months suspension for his uncivil conduct not befitting the status of an Oba,” the report said adding “The decision was reached after the Kabiyesi and his victim were invited by the Honourable Commissioner, Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs for interrogation. This became imperative as a result of the reckless utterances and public misconduct of the Kabiyesi as it was evident in the social media and being bandied in the larger public space. After the investigation conducted on the matter, the Kabiyesi has been suspended and stripped of the paraphernalia of the stool of Olorile-Ifo pending the determination of his culpability or otherwise on the allegation. The foregoing decision was reached by the Ministry in conjunction with the Egba Traditional Council in accordance with Section 52(1) of the Obas and Chiefs’ Law of Ogun State 2021.”

And to add to the battles of the uncouth Oba, T4T also read in the news that the Ogun State Police, on Tuesday, arraigned the suspended Oba, for assaulting a 73-year-old man, Elder Abraham Areola.

Ogunjobi was arraigned on three-count charges of conspiracy, assault, and conduct likely to cause a breach of peace. He was granted bail on liberal terms of N5m with two sureties in the like sum. The case has been adjourned to March 6 for hearing.

This is T4T’s position. The Oba should be stripped of his Obaship permanently and if possible, he should be jailed if found guilty by the court. That will serve as a lesson to other kings that want to behave like modern day King Herod.

TO be honest, T4T does not know much about Afro pop singer, Tems, who reports say just won her second Grammy. He only got to listen to her song after the news of her Grammy feat broke.

But what Tems should be celebrated for aside her Grammy is the fact that she draped the flag of Nigeria on her shoulders when she went to collect the award.
This is a rare thing with the present generation of young Nigerian people especially artistes who use every opportunity to denigrate the country for whatever perceived offence she may have committed against them. So, this saying to dear Tems, thank you for still believing in Nigeria. May you continue to win more Grammys. Just say Amen if you are reading this.
